As IT Director for Portman Travel Group, Matthew Oates leads the Group’s IT function incorporating infrastructure, security and application development. In this role Matthew ensures IT supports the growth and acquisition strategy of Portman Travel Group by focusing on secure infrastructure solutions that are scalable and flexible. With a particular interest in risk Matthew has guided Portman Travel Group through ISO27001, ISO22301 and BS10012 certifications to ensure security, business continuity, and personal information management processes are well managed and validated. Prior to this Matthew worked in Rail leading the IT function within TransPennine Express where he worked closely with the Fleet department to produce an innovative fuel saving system with annual high six figure savings resulting.
